MISSION STATEMENT To provide a variety of worship experiences, using Word and sacraments, music, sharing and witness for Jesus Christ. To provide a variety of opportunities for everyone to receive Christian education, development, training, motivation and involvement through service and fellowship activities to support and promote Christian ministry. To develop a positive attitude of stewardship, feeling this love for Christ, we shall give cheerfully and freely of our time, abilities and worldly possessions. To serve the congregation by promoting visitation, encouraging inactive members to return to active status and reaching out to the greater Waterbury area and beyond through witness efforts and service programs, sharing the good news of Christ's love, forgiveness and hope, and inviting all people to let God come into their lives. To maintain the house of the Lord and all property, and plan the future expansion of church facilities. IDENTITY STATEMENT We, the people of First Lutheran Church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and a fellowship of believers, affirm ourselves to be chosen children of the heavenly Father, redeemed through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through grace, we, a sinful people have been forgiven and are now unified, guided and strengthened in the Spirit, reborn through baptism and nurtured through holy communion. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are by faith called to Christ-centered worship, work and witness, and to be examples of our Lord and Savior and disciples of his word.
